"More Than A Healing"

OCTOBER 4

Texts: Psalm 27: 7-14 & Mark 1: 40-45

Often, the people Jesus encounters are carrying a great deal of shame because of their stigmatized place in society. In today’s gospel story, even the man with leprosy wonders if Jesus is truly willing and wanting to heal him. Who are the stigmatized in our neighborhoods? In worship today, we will focus on the stigma of incarceration. What is our responsibility as followers of Jesus to care for those imprisoned and their families and communities?
